He also addressed his relation with NC General Secretary Gagan Thapa, stating that he has no idea whether Thapa will also run for the post of president in the upcoming convention. "I have no qualms with Gagan,” he said, “You should ask him whether he will run or not. Competition aside, we will move forward with discussions on all other matters."
Koirala emphasized that the party's internal democracy allows all members, including delegates and central members, the right to contest in the convention. He stressed that competition within the party should proceed in a healthy and democratic manner.
The NC leader also criticized the current government led by Prime Minister Oli. "The government lacks good governance, and the economic situation is worsening. The government formation agreement has not been honored. In such circumstances, we must work together on issues ranging from constitutional amendments to economic reforms," Koirala added.
