A meeting of the party’s central working committee (CWC) held in Sanepa, Lalitpur, took a decision to this effect, citing that the district committee failed to take any preventive measures against the December 5 attack on Poudel in the Bharatpur jail, despite knowing about the fatal assault in advance. Poudel, succumbed to injuries during the course of his treatment in the capital on December 17. Following his killing, there had been voices raised calling for dissolution of the district working committee. The new committee will picked in next six months.
Bikash Koirala was president of the dissolved committee.
