KATHMANDU, May 4: Nepali Congress has appointed office bearers on Friday, 26 months after the General Convention of the party, breaching party statute rules.
As per the party statute of the Nepali Congress, the office bearers must be appointed within two months from the date of the General Convention.

A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held at the central party headquarters, Sanepa appointed Bimalendra Nidhi as Vice President, Purna Bahadur Khadka as general Secretary and Prakash Sharan Mahat as Joint General Secretary.
President Sher Bahadur Deuba picked three office bearers from his own camp despite objection by senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel.
Deuba picked officer bearers at a time when the party was sharply divided over power sharing.
