KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Nepali Congress(NC) Vice President, Bimalendra Nidhi, has been given the responsibility as Acting President of the party during the absence of President Sher Bahadur Deuba in the country.
Nidhi was assigned with the responsibility after NC President and Prime Minister Deuba left for the UK on Friday to participate in the World Leaders' Summit of the 26th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26) being held in Glasgow, UK.

President Deuba assigned Nidhi as Acting President in line with Article 25 (13) of the Nepali Congress Statute, 2017 (with amendment) until he returns back to home, said Chief Secretary of NC Party Office, Krishna Prasad Poudel.
