KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The new edition of writer Nayan Raj Pandey's book 'Loo' has come out in time for the 19th Nepal International Book Fair. The book fair, starting on August 21, is being held at the Exhibition Hall in Bhrikuti Mandap.

According to the press release issued by publisher FinePrint, this edition also has 'slight editorial changes.'

It is being sold at a reduced priced of Rs 260. For those attending the nine-day book fair, 'Loo' will be available at a cheaper price of Rs 200.

On this new edition of his popular book, Pandey said, "We brought out the more affordable edition because the book has a very sensitive subject of national interest and I wanted it to reach as many readers as possible."

The author writes about marginalized communities living around the Nepal-India border in 'Loo.' Most often, these communities are without a voice and so cannot speak up for their rights.

Publisher Ajit Baral said that they had reprinted Pandey's novella 'Ular' under Modern Classics six years ago and are now reissuing 'Loo.' "We expect 'Loo' to reach as wider a readership as 'Ular' did. We're reprinting books with the intention of bringing brilliant fictions by writers of earlier generations to newer readers."
