KATHMANDU, Oct 5: With a view to build a national-level stadium, Chandragiri Municipality is organizing Naikap Gold Cup at Naikap, Kathmandu from October 15 to 30. 



Organizing a press conference in the capital on Wednesday, Ramhari Basnet, the coordinator of the organizing committee, informed that the event to be played in knockout basis will feature 32 teams. 



“Different local institutions and clubs have been organizing football tournaments throughout the year in the ground. But we have set a different target of constructing stadium in the ground,” Basnet said, adding that they were planning to expand the 110 X 60 m ground and build a stadium. “We will be successful in our ambition if the government supports us.” 



The participating teams in the tournament can field three foreign players and is open to all.



The winner and the runner-up of the tournament will be rewarded with purse of Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively. Similarly, the best player and highest scorer will be awarded Rs 10,000 each. The expected cost of the tournament is Rs 1.5 million.
