“The 9N-ACB aircraft landed in Kathmandu with passengers from Doha Monday morning and left for Kuala Lumpur in the afternoon,” NAC said in a statement.[break]
The national flag carrier had suspended half of its international flights after it sent the aircraft to Israel for C-check on August 30. The C-check is carried out on every aircraft on periodic basis as defined by the manufacturer.
Currently, NAC operates 15 flights a week to five international destinations -- Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and Doha - with two ageing Boeing 757 aircraft.
Meanwhile, NAC has started repairing its five Twin Otter aircraft. “The five Twin Otter aircraft are undergoing maintenance. We are hopeful of adding flights to rural destinations once these aircraft become operational,” the statement said. NAC also plan to add some flights on profitable routes.
NAC presently operates two Twin Otter aircraft on more than a dozen domestic destinations - most of them in rural areas. It had leased out two Twin Otter aircraft to Tara Air about a year ago.
