KATHMANDU, July 8: Nepal recorded 2,676 new cases, 1,757 recoveries, and 33 deaths due to COVID-19 on Thursday.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 1,782 PCR tests and 894 antigen tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Of them, 2,676 tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally has surged to 709,437 including 626,468 recoveries and 9,463 deaths.

Kathmandu Valley alone has added 553 new COVID-19 patients on Thursday. These include 339 in Kathmandu, 134 in Lalitpur and 80 new cases in Bhaktapur. There are a total of 7693 active cases in Kathmandu Valley,
According to the MoHP, there are currently 24025 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 2,614 in institutional isolation, 602 in ICUs, and 171 on ventilators.
