KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will operate flights to 10 different domestic destinations in line with the government’s decision to resume domestic air service from Monday.
Unveiling a schedule for domestic flights, the state-owned airlines company said it would operate flights to destinations--Rukum, Nepalgunj, Jumla, Bhojpur, Dang, Phaplu, Thamkharka, Bajura, Taplejung and Thamedanda. The flights will take place to and from Kathmandu and also between other destinations mentioned in the schedule.
NAC allowed to fly to Saudi Arabia
As two great festivals --Dashain and Tihar-- celebrated widely in the country are fast approaching, the government has said that the resumption of the flights is aimed at facilitating people, who want to travel back to their hometowns. The NAC, however, has slashed the number of flights as the government has allowed resuming only one fourth of the total flights it used to operate during normal time for safer operation of flights and airports in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
The national flag carrier has been conducting international flights since the government announced resumption of international air service to ease the flow of passengers wanting to come back to Nepal.
