KATHMANDU, August 26: CPN (United Socialist) Secretary Ram Kumari Jhankri has said that she supports the move taken by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Shah.
Jhanki, who is also the former urban development minister, said in a Facebook post that when she planned to remove the encroachment of the valley she had to postpone it due to the party pressure. She said, 'Mayor Balenji does not have party pressure like me. Sincere efforts will succeed.'

She said, “I had already removed 41 encroached structures of Bagmati Corridor. Now that the election has come, there was pressure to not do it now and it had to be postponed. After the local level elections, the move began again from May 16, 2022”.
Recently, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has intensified the campaign to remove the illegally-built structures without passing house maps from the metropolis.
