Mugu observes peaceful elections

MUGU, Nov 27: The first phase of the much-awaited parliamentary and provincial elections concluded in a peaceful and systematic manner in all the polling stations of Mugu on Sunday.

MUGU, Nov 27: The first phase of the much-awaited parliamentary and provincial elections concluded in a peaceful and systematic manner in all the polling stations of Mugu on Sunday.


There are one municipality and three rural municipalities in the district. According to Rajiman Budha, information officer at the District Election Office (DEO), Mugu, voting started from 7 am in all polling stations of the district except for one. Out of the 60 polling centers in the district, voting could not start on time at Khari Basic School in Mugum-Karmarong Rural Municipality ward no 4. Voting was delayed in the polling center as the election officers forgot to bring the tape to seal the ballot boxes.

However, voting started from 9 am there after officers of Nepal Army brought the tape in a helicopter, informed Information Officer Budha. 


He further informed that voting was peaceful in all polling centers with an enthusiastic participation of voters. No cases of violence were witnessed in the district till late evening.
