KATHMANDU, May 17: Phurwa Sherpa, a resident of Sankhuwasabha, who was involved in the Nepal Army's Clean Mountain Campaign, 2023, died on the way back to the base camp after reaching atop the Sagarmatha (Mount Everest).
The NA's Military and Public Relations Directorate said on Wednesday that efforts were underway to retrieve the body of Lama.

Likewise, Captain Dipendra Singh Khatry, who was taken ill while returning after climbing Mount Everest, was airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment. Khatry who was also engaged in the clean mountain campaign in the Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse was first taken to camp-2 with support from other mountaineers.
Captain Khatri along with three others who were taken to Kathmandu for treatment are said to be in normal health now.
Remaining works of the clean mountain campaign are being carried out under the leadership of Major Kishor Adhikari despite unfavorable weather condition.
