BAITADI, Aug 7: A mother and her son were killed after being buried in a landslide in Baitadi on Thursday midnight.

The incident took place at around 1 am when their house at Mathairaj area in Dilasaini Rural Municipality-4 was buried by rain-triggered landslides.  

The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Pashupati Bohara and her 12-year-old son Rikesh, according to the spokesperson for the Baitadi District Police, Kishan Chand.

Two other members of the same family sleeping in another room of the house survived the landslide as they fled the house when the landslide started to hit their house. Chief District Officer of Baitadi Narayan Prasad Adhikari told Republica Online that a team of police from Dhamigaun Police Station and local residents pulled out the two dead bodies from the incident site.
