MoHA calls back Kailali CDO

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) on Tuesday decided to call back Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kailali district Raj Kumar Shrestha for failing to maintain peace and security in the district.

Sources at the ministry said CDO Shrestha has been summoned to the capital for making public unverified information and failing to direct security agencies promptly.


MoHA concluded that negligence by the local administration cause huge loss of lives.MoHA Spokesperson Laxmi Prasad Dhakal, however, said the decision is yet to be made.

At least eight persons, including a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), two inspectors of the Nepal Police, and a two-year-old toddler were killed and 42 other policemen were injured in the clash with agitating Tharuhat activists in Shankarpur area of Tikapur Municipality on Monday.
