Mobile application for 'earthquake response' launched

KATHMANDU, May 16: The Department of Mines and Geology has made public an informative mobile application named 'Nepal Earthquake Updates' to circulate information regarding earthquakes.

According to the department, the application will update any earthquake information above 4 in the Richter Scale soon after it takes place.


Minister for Industry Mahesh Basnet launched the application at a program here in the capital city, on Saturday.

Likewise, a toll free telephone number (1618014410141) has also been made public for news concerning remblor.

The application, which informs public about earthquakes, can be downloaded at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=np.com.mls.nepalquakeupdate
