KATHMANDU, June 9: With 323 fresh COVID-19 cases, Nepal’s coronavirus tally crossed the 4000-mark and the country also reported one more death on Tuesday taking the death toll to 15, Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population said.
At a daily Facebook update on the country's COVID-19 status, Gautam said that the number of coronavirus infected persons in Nepal reached 4085 as of today. Of the new infected, 292 are males and 31 are females.
With 323 new cases, Nepal's COVID-19 tally surges to 3235
Spokesperson Gautam informed that 584 COVID-19 patients (507 males and 77 females) have returned home after recovery as of Tuesday. "In the past 24 hours, 96 COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery," he said.
According to him, the throat swab of a man from Chitwan who tested positive for COVID-19 Monday evening died in course of treatment at Bharatpur Hospital today. With this, Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has reached 15.
Meanwhile, Ilam district reported the first COVID-19 case today, he shared. So far, the COVID-19 infection has spread to 72 districts of the country.
