KATHMANDU, April 16: Within two days of the enforcement of government decision to ban plastics in the Kathmandu Valley, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment has recovered more than 210 kgs of polythene bags.
Organizing a press conference on Thursday, Secretary at the Ministry, Dr Krishna Chandra Poudel, said the plastic was recovered from various places as an effort to keep the city clean and fully implement the government decision to keep the environment free of polythene bags.

The polythene bags were seized from the entry points to Bhaktpuar and Kathmandu districts before the supply and from other shops in the Valley.
On Wednesday alone, two kg of polythene was seized from a grocery of Dakchhinkali while 18 kgs from different department stores of Kalimati. The monitoring would be continued till the Valley turned polythene free, added Secretary Poudel. RRS
