Miho noodles hit market<br/>Bajaj offers Sun Chandi Hira Moti scheme

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Jagadamba Foods Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Shanker Group, Sunday introduced Miho Ready to Eat Noodles in the market.



“While the Japanese use the word ´Miho´ to describe beauty, in Spanish it stands for friend. So, Miho is a beautiful friend for consumers here,” Shahil Agrawal, executive director, Shankar Group, said at a press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday. [break]



The newest player to enter the highly competitive instant noodles market in the country will be available in two flavors: chicken and vegetarian. It will also be sold in 75-gram package that will have a maximum retail price of Rs 15. "As an introductory scheme, all packages will also contain lucky coupons for cash prizes," Agrawal said.







According to the group, the noodles are manufactured at Jagadamba´s plant in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi. “We have brought in technologies from Japan and Taiwan to manufacture Miho here. The product has been designed, considering the special taste and eating habits of Nepali people. Miho is a wholesome, healthy and tasty food for all,” Agrawal said.



Special consideration has also been made to ensure the safety level of the food and to make sure that the product is fresh when opened, Gokul Dhakal, manager, Jagadamba Foods Product, said. He also said the noodles were fortified with different nutrients like calcium, iron and multi-vitamins. “This is the only noodles brand in Nepal which contains Niacin, a very important nutrient,” he said.





Bajaj offers Sun Chandi Hira Moti scheme



KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Hansraj Hulaschand and Co, the sole authorized distributor of Bajaj two-wheelers for Nepal, has launched Sun Chandi Hira Moti scheme for the upcoming Dashain-Tihar festive season.



According to a statement issued Sunday, each buyer of a Bajaj motorcycle will be given a scratch card which will contain different prizes in line with the scheme´s gold, silver, pearl and diamond scheme. The prizes include 100 grams of silver, 5 grams of gold, a pearl necklace and up to 0.25 carat diamond. Hansraj Hulaschand said it would release advertisements to inform potential clients of the beginning and ending of the scheme.



Bajaj also recently unveiled two bikes in Kathmandu, which includes an upgrade of its popular Pulsar 220 series and a 100 cc addition to its Discover family. Other Bajaj bikes in the Nepali market include the Pulsar DTS-i family in 150 cc, 180 cc and 200 cc displacement; Discover 135; XCD and Platina among others.





Timilsina, Sharma win Horlicks Wizteam Nepal 2009



KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Deepti Timilsina of Ideal Model School and Suruchi Sharma of Modern Indian School have won the Horlicks Wizteam Nepal 2009 that concluded Friday, Horlicks said in a statement on Sunday. The winners will represent Nepal in the upcoming Horlicks WizTeam South Asia, scheduled to be held in November in Bangalore, India.



The event was participated by 1,500 students from 50 schools. The students were judged through preliminary rounds which included Academics, Music Melody, Folk Dance, English story writing, Painting and Elocution. The finalists took part in four segments -- Personal Introduction Segment, Versatility Show Segment, Talent Show Segment and Judges Question Segment.



“The winners of Horlicks Wizteam South Asia 2009 will get an opportunity to represent South Asia in youth initiatives and conference. They will play a significant role in highlighting the role of young Asians in the future world,” the statement reads.
