MFD forecast partial rainfall across Nepal during key days of Dashain festival

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology of the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has issued a special bulletin indicating the likelihood of rain in various parts of the country during the upcoming Dashain festival. The forecast covers key festival days, including Saptami (October 10), Ashtami/Nawami (October 11), and Dashami (October 12).


According to the bulletin, light to moderate rain is expected in several areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, with similar conditions anticipated in a few locations of the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Thunder and lightning may accompany the rainfall in these areas.

In contrast, other regions of the country are predicted to experience partly cloudy skies, with most areas remaining mostly clear. According to the department, the maximum and minimum temperatures in many places may fall slightly below average during these days.


Ordinary people are advised to prepare for changing weather conditions as they plan their Dashain celebrations.
