DHANGADI, Aug. 1: A memorandum was submitted to the Indian Embassy, Kathmandu, on Wednesday through the Kailali District Administration Office (DAO), demanding the release of Acharya Balkrishna, an aide to yoga guru Ram Dev.

Balkrishna was held by the Indian police on the charge of possessing fake documents and passport.[break]

A 60-member team led by Central Vice-Chairman of the Patanjali Yog Committee Nepal, Madan Raj Pande, submitted the memorandum reaching Kailali DAO.

The team has protested the arrest of Balkrishna saying it was anarchic and ill-intended act of Indian Central Investigation Bureau merely because Balkrishna was of Nepali origin.

The Indian police had arrested Balkrishna from Haridwar of India on July 20.
