Meetings of six parliamentary committees scheduled for today

KATHMANDU, May 30: Six parliamentary committees under the Federal Parliament are convening their meetings today.

KATHMANDU, May 30: Six parliamentary committees under the Federal Parliament are convening their meetings today.


The committees convening their meetings include Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance; International Relations and Tourism; State Affairs and Good Governance; Public Accounts Committee; Education, Health and Information Technology; Women and Social Affairs Committee; and Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee.


The Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee was scheduled to meet at 10:30 AM at Singha Durbar.


Their agenda includes discussions on the primary themes of the 16th five-year plan, the Nepal Government’s strategy for transitioning from a least developed country to a developing country, and preparations for the implementation of sustainable development goals.

The International Relations and Tourism Committee was scheduled to meet at 11:00 AM at Singha Durbar. This meeting will focus on the bill to amend the Records Preservation Act, 2046.


The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee also convened its meeting at 11:00 AM.


This session will discuss the bill to amend the Act, 2066, related to the Constitutional Council (Works, Duties, Powers and Procedures).


The Public Accounts Committee was called at 11:00 AM at Singha Durbar to discuss various issues with the Auditor General.


The Women and Social Affairs Committee will meet at 1:00 PM at Singha Durbar to deliberate on compensation for acid attack victims in Nepal.


Similarly, a meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee will convene at 1:00 PM at Singha Durbar.


Their discussion will focus on the activities, major issues, problems, and future action plans of the Bauddhanath Area Development Committee.
