Sah, 30, of Badaha-1 in Bara district, was arrested by a special team of Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) at Pharping. Police had ambushed him while he was heading to the capital on a motorcycle (Na 10 Pa 5800). [break]
Police suspect that Sah could be an active member of a trafficking ring that smuggles drugs using the Hetauda-Dakshinkali road. The road is easier for traffickers due to less security checks compared to other highways.
Sah told myrepublica.com at MPCD, where he was made public, that he joined the UCPN (Maoist) some nine years ago and is now a district committee member of the party.
He also admitted that he possessed brown sugar that was found to have been wrapped in 10 small plastic pouches.

Sah told the police that he had been smuggling narcotics through Raxaul and would sell the drug in the capital.
The Narcotic Drugs Control Act 1976 has a provision of jail ranging from 15 years to life and fine of Rs 500,000 to Rs 2.5 million.
