The Maoist-affiliated association also demanded necessary action for the guilty and to declare the dead people killed in the incident martyrs. Similarly, it demanded free treatment to the injured and compensation to the kin of the dead.
In a press meet organized at Unified CPN (Maoist) central office Paris Danda in Kathmandu, chairman Dipak Rai claimed that during the police operation foodstuffs, pots, mobile phone sets, cash, cycle, jewels including their clothes worth Rs 11,301,275 was damaged.
He demanded to the government for the compensation of their belongings.
Rai also alleged the administration attacking in the poor settlements without prior information. There was no hand of UCPN-M or any organizations affiliated to the party behind the incident but local cadres of the party came to rescue the victims after the incidents, Rai said.
During the meet, Nanda Ram Tamota, Shubhakamana Paudyal and Tilak B.K., who witnessed the incident, talked with media persons and said that they were not informed before the police attacked the squatters´ settlement.
