Pradip Majhi, 22, who had separated from his family only a couple of days ago, hacked his step brother Prakash, 35, and his wife Rita, 28, to death when the couple was working in their paddy field. [break]
According to police inspector Brij Kishor Chaudhari, Pradip killed self by consuming a pesticide shortly after hacking the couple with an axe. The dispute over ownership of a house led to the gruesome incident, said Chaudhari.
While the deceased couple´s 11-year-old son is studying in Kathmandu, his three daughters are in Rajghat. Pradip was unmarried.
Prakash had an elderly father to look after at home. Police are preparing to bring all the dead bodies to the Sarlahi District Hospital for postmortem.
