Madhesi parties claim 9 ministries

KATHMANDU, May 26: Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) on Monday decided to stake claim for nine ministries for the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) in the new cabinet. The party is one of the three members in the UDMF. [break]



A meeting of five-member committee chaired by Upendra Yadav to hold talks with other political parties made a decision to this effect. The meeting decided to stake claim for six ministries for the MPRF, two ministries for the TMDP and one ministry for the SP.



MPRF sources said the claim was made as the Unified CPN (Maoist), which had a total 238 seats in the Constituent Assembly, held only nine ministries in the erstwhile government.
