The former prime minister on the occasion also reaffirmed that the new constitution will be promulgated by May 27 saying it is possible.
The Constituent Assembly is yet to resolve some thorny issues of the new constitution such as system of governance, number of provinces, their names and delineation in state restructuring. After resolving the contentious issues, the Constitutional Committee of the CA will have to prepare an integrated draft of the new constitution, hold public deliberations over the draft and endorse it by two-thirds majority of the 601-seat CA.
"After resolving the disputes, we need at least one to two weeks at most to prepare the draft. We need some more time for other purposes of the drafting but we must complete all the tasks by May 27," he said. "And, afterward, you know we need to go for elections."
