M-55 Mayasischev aircraft to take stock of Nepal's weather condition

KATHMANDU, July 21: Russia-manufactured plane has landed at Tribhuvan International Airport for the first time in Nepal to take stock of the weather condition of the country. The place which can fly at the height of 70, 000 feet will remain in Kathmandu for a month.

KATHMANDU, July 21: Russia-manufactured plane has landed at Tribhuvan International Airport for the first time in Nepal to take stock of the weather condition of the country. The place which can fly at the height of 70, 000 feet will remain in Kathmandu for a month.


M-55 Mayasischev Russia-manufactured aircraft has flown to Kathmandu from Germany. The private airlines company Buddha Air has got the responsibility of managing its ground handling.


 “The airplane which came on Thursday morning has been stationed in our hanger,” Santosh Khati, manager at the Department of Technical Support of Buddha Airlines, told Republica Online.

This plane is well-equipped with weather equipments and has a place for a single pilot.


Manufactured by Russian aircraft manufacturing company Mayasischev, this aircraft had made a maiden flight in 1988.


According to the company, it can fly at the height of 21, 360 meters.
