BUTWAL, May 2: The special session of the Lumbini Province Assembly that was scheduled to begin at 1 PM on Sunday, has been prorogued.
Governor of the province, Dharmanath Yadav announced the prorogation of the provincial assembly at the recommendation of Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel.
Lumbini Province Assembly session prorogued
A meeting of the provincial cabinet, which was held after CM Pokharel submitted his resignation to the governor, decided to prorogue the special session of the assembly.
The special assembly was summoned to discuss and decide on the no-confidence motion registered against CM Pokharel. Opposition parties including Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and Janta Samajbadi Party had filed the motion against Pokharel on April 19.
