KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday rose marginally by 5.08 points to close at 2,613.08 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,607.99 points and plunged to the day’s low to 2,600.2 points in the first seven minutes of trading. The index experienced successive fluctuations and was able to leap as high as 2,619 points in the next two and a half hours. During the remaining period, the market shed around six points before it closed for the day.

Out of the five losing groups, trading lost the highest of 93.79 points. Hydropower, finance, banking and mutual funds were also among the losers. Non-life insurance, on the other hand, grew by 223.76 points, the highest of all.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, added one point to its last day’s value. Daily turnover, however, plummeted to Rs 6.19 billion from Rs 6.57 billion on Monday.
Among the individual companies, 106 were gainers while 129 were registered as losers. CEDB Holdings Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 237.63 million.
Mandakini Hydropower Limited was the topmost gainer. River Falls Power Limited, which lost 8.96 percent of its market value, was recorded as the highest loser.
