BIRATNAGAR, Aug 6: Limbuwan Prantiya Parisad (LPP) shut down nine districts in eastern Nepal on Thursday in protest of government’s special security plan.

LPP, affiliated with Naitonal Janamukti Party, closed down businesses, transportation, industries and educational institutions in Jhapa, Ilam, Morang, Sunsari, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha and Tehrathum.

LPP cadres have also obstructed highways.

LPP Chairman CP Tumbhahamfe in a press release said that the implementation of the security plan will suppress the indigenous communities.

The government has implemented the special security plan from July 26 to strengthen the security in the nation.
