Schools and colleges, industries and marketplaces have remained closed and vehicles operating on all short and long routes to and from Dharan have stayed off the road due to the shutdown.
The strike has been called to press for implementation of the five-point understanding between the government and the FLSC on the ethnic body’s representation in the State Restructuring Commission, according to Bhupendra Sundar Lawati, Sunsari chairman of the FLSC.
