KATHMANDU, Jan 20: A plane that took off from the Nepalgunj Airport to Kathmandu landed at the Chandragardi Airport in Jhapa due to low visibility in Kathmandu.
Flight 440 of Shree Airlines, carrying four crew members and 52 passengers, took off at around 7:30 AM on Friday and landed at the Chandragadhi airport at around 9AM.
The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) said that the plane was diverted to Chandragadhi after it could not land due to low visibility at the TIA.
Low visibility affects flights at TIA
The TIA Office said that the plane will be returned to Kathmandu after the weather clears.
Similarly, a plane of Nepal Airlines Corporation, which came from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has landed in Calcutta, India.
RNA 416 flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu had to reach Calcutta for landing because of low visibility in Kathmandu.
Domestic flights have been affected due to low visibility at the TIA.
