KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Lok Darshan Regmi has been appointed Nepal's ambassador to the United Kingdom.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Regmi as Nepal's residential ambassador to the United Kingdom as per Article 282 of the constitution, according to a press release issued by Sheetal Niwas, the President's Office, on Monday afternoon.
Regmi, the immediate past chief secretary of the government, was recommended as Nepali envoy to the UK on October 1.

The UK government recently approved Regmi's agreemo and wrote to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the same.
Regmi is succeeding Durga Bahadur Subedi, a career diplomat. Nepal and the UK established diplomatic relations in 1816.
