KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Locals at Balambu area have obstructed vehicular movement along the Kalanki-Thankot section of the road starting 4 p.m. after a local Janak Sapkota was killed by a tripper on its way to Kalanki from Nagdhunga. According to Metropolitan Police Traffic Division, Ramshahpath, the tripper with registration number Na 1 Ka 1691 ran over Sapkota, 32, at about 3.35 p.m., when he was walking on the road. A permanent resident of Balambu VDC-8, Chundevi, he died on the spot. The protest staged by locals accompanied by the kin of the deceased has left vehicular movement along the Kalanki-Thankot section of the road out of gear since 4 p.m. At the time of reporting, there is a long line of vehicles on either side of the accident site.
