KATHMANDU, Feb 13 :The agitating staffers of the local bodies have halted their work across the country on Sunday. They claimed that the government’s plan to integrate local body staffers in the new federal set up is discriminatory against them.

Various five trade unions under the local body have launched agitation across the country. Their protest disturbed the daily work at the village development committees, district development office, municipalities and ward offices.
The staffers also said that they will continue their protest until their demand are met. “We will not stop the protest until the government heeds our demands,” said Hari Kumar Shrestha, president of the Local Body Employees Association.
