Thapa, a youth leader contesting from constituency number 4 of Kathmandu district, is a first-past-the-post (FPTP) candidate of the Nepali Congress.
Sangraula welcomed Thapa warmly when the latter reached Mirmire Tole on the second day of his door-to-door campaign in Ward Number 7. He placed vermillion powder on Thapa´s face and offered him auspicious curd, wishing him victory in the CA poll scheduled for November 19.
Sangraula´s spouse Jamuna Gurung called Thapa her ´son´ and asked him to become the son of entire Nepal. The Sangraula couple even participated in Thapa´s door-to-door campaign in their neighborhood.
The door-to-door campaign has drawn support not only from NC cadres and well-wishers, but also those with leftist backgrounds. According to NC youth leader Shankar Tiwari, who has been accompanying Thapa in the door-to-door, most locals said they were asked by their own children to vote for Thapa.
