KATHMANDU, Mar 2: The health condition of ailing former Deputy Prime Minister and senior communist leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari is deteriorating.
Adhikari is currently undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of HAMS Hospital in the capital. He was admitted to Lalitpur-based Mediciti Hospital after he complained of chest complication on January 16.
He was then taken to HAMS Hospital for further treatment on February 7. According to the medical director at the hospital, Bhashkar Raj Panta, vital organs of Adhikari's body are not properly functioning and medicine has been supplied to raise his blood pressure. The urination has stopped for the past 24 hours, Dr Panta further informed.
Earlier, President Bidya Devi Bhandari had reached the hospital on Friday to inquire about the health condition of leader Adhikari.
