The law practitioners staged demonstration for an hour from 11:00 AM by masking their mouths with black clothes in front of the courts at the call of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA).
The lawyers said that the agitation was organized against the Supreme Court´s decision to scrap the writs filed against the Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers and the Presidential decree removing the constitutional difficulties. The lawyers say that the writs were scrapped without giving them chance for a hearing.
Likewise, the lawyers have also protested the raids carried out by the officials in the law firms of former President of NBA Thapa and advocate Uddhav KC.
The legal practitioners also organized a gathering in the NBA premises and warned of stringent agitation if the earlier decisions of the court were not corrected within a week.
NBA President Hari Krishna Karki, former Presidents Sarbagya Ratna Tuladhar, Radheshyam Adhikari, Prem Bahadur Karki and Harihar Dahal and others addressed the gathering.
