Landslide blocks Tamor, settlements at risk
The continuous rainfall is taking place, further increasing the risk of disaster. A large dam has been created due to the river blockage. A settlement opposite the Chame Bazaar has already been inundated.
The flood triggered by incessant rain has led to soil erosion near a sole Bailey bridge connecting Chame to upper Manang. The district administration has already sought the help of Nepal Army to explode the dam, incessant rains have aborted the efforts toward that end. The Chame folks have been urged to stay alert to the possibility of any untoward incident from the disaster, according to the CDO.
