KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), along with five others, has been presented before the court on Tuesday. The District Government Attorney Office, Kaski, has demanded an extension of time for those who are under investigation in cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering cases.

According to the information provided by the Kaski police, as the public prosecutor's office will take time to study the investigation report, it will request the court for an extension of Lamichhane’s custody by four days.
Lamichhane, who was arrested on October 18, has been in custody for 61 days. It is reported that this custody extension could probably be the last one.
In the case of the fraud involving the Suryadarshan Cooperative, 51 individuals have been named as defendants. Investigations are ongoing into charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering against Lamichhane.
The police have prepared a report demanding a restitution of 1.514 billion and submitted it to the District Government Attorney's Office (DGAO), Kaski.
