RSP Chair Lamichhane to be presented in court for remand extension

Earlier, the Kaski District Court granted a 15-day detention on November 24, which expired on Friday night. As the court was closed on Saturday, Lamichhane is being presented before the court today.

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Police will present former home minister and chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, before the Kaski District Court on Sunday for an extension of his judicial detention. He was arrested on charges of cooperative fraud and organized crime.


Earlier, the Kaski District Court granted a 15-day detention on November 24, which expired on Friday night. As the court was closed on Saturday, Lamichhane is being presented before the court today.

Lamichhane is under investigation for charges including cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering. Along with Lamichhane, former DIG of Nepal Police, Chhabilal Joshi, and other individuals involved in the embezzlement of funds from the Suryadarshan Savings and Credit Cooperative in Pokhara will also be presented in the court today.
