RSP Chair Lamichhane presented before Chitwan court

Police have presented Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane before the Chitwan District Court on Thursday. Police presented him before the court for detention hearing in connection with Sahara Chitwan Multipurpose Cooperative fund misappropriation case.

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Police have presented Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane before the Chitwan District Court on Thursday. Police presented him before the court for detention hearing in connection with Sahara Chitwan Multipurpose Cooperative fund misappropriation case.


The hearing has been ongoing since Wednesday. After the hearing could not be completed on Wednesday, the court ordered Lamichhane to be remanded into custody. Lamichhane had appeared before the Chitwan District Court yesterday.

Eight lawyers are arguing on Thursday on behalf of the cooperative victim who filed a complaint against Lamichhane in the case of misappropriation of savings of Sahara Chitwan Cooperative.


During the detention hearing on Wednesday, government lawyers including District Attorney Rabi Neupane, along with attorneys Buddha Bahadur Thapa and Amrit Subedi, presented their arguments. Following that, Advocate Ramesh Kafle argued on behalf of the plaintiff.


After 10 AM on Thursday, senior lawyers Dinesh Tripathi, Surendra Bhandari, Raj Kumar Shrestha and advocates Aarashi Gautam, Gopilal Devkota, Sitaram Dwadi, Sunita Adhikari and Shambhu Bartola are presenting arguments on behalf of the complainant.


The detention hearing is set to conclude today itself.
