JUMLA, April 18: Diagnosis of diseases of patients visiting the hospital has become a tough job due to lack of lab test kits in the Jumla-based Karnali Academy of Health Sciences.

Officiating Medical Director at the hospital Dr Surya Man Limbu said that they were having difficulties to differentiate whether the disease was a seasonal flu or swine flu in absence of the lab test kit adding that the patients of both the diseases develop more or less the same symptoms.

Dr Limbu said that hundreds of patients visit the hospital every day in the recent days with the symptoms of fever, cough, headache, difficulties in breathing and body pain.

He added that the District Public Health Office, Jumla, was informed for the lab test kit and hoped that the kits would arrived in some days.

Meanwhile, the Academy has appealed to the Jumla folks to adopt precautions against flu infection, asking them not to visit the crowed areas, pay more attention in pure drinking water and sanitation and others. RSS
