DHANGADHI, May 16: When a meeting of provincial assembly gets postponed or delayed, it becomes a real trouble for the parliamentarians to find a place to stay until the meeting resumes. Those who arrive earlier than the scheduled time also have to deal with this problem.

In such case, they are often found standing under a tree in the ground of District Coordination Committee (DCC).

"There is no proper place for the members of provincial assembly to sit and discuss before the meeting and this really is a serious problem," said Mahesh Joshi, a member of the provincial assembly, adding, "We are obliged to stand under a tree until the meeting gets started."

According to another provincial member, Liladhar Bhatta, there are so many things which need to be discussed before the meetings but unfortunately that have not been possible due to non availability of place. "Until now, we have been discussing all the issues at restaurants, under a tree or in open grounds," Bhatta said.

Unavailability of a building has delayed the formation of the parliamentary secretariat office, office of the parliamentary committee, office of the chairperson of the committee and the offices of the ruling and main opposition have not been formed due to lack of building.

"We have not been able to set those offices in lack of building," said Balaram Sharma, secretary at the parliament secretariat. As there is no building for the parliament office, the provincial assembly meetings have been organized at the workstation of the speaker. In fact, there is no fixed place for conducting the meetings.

As informed by Secretary Sharma, the search for the building of various offices has been expedited. "We will open the offices as soon as we find the building," said Sharma. Even the day-to-day work of staffers has been affected due to lack of building. A large number of officials are obliged to work in a particular room.
