KATHMANDU, Oct 15: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has formally requested security assistance from the Kathmandu District Administration for the operation of the Dharamshala at Gaushala.
In a letter addressed to the administration, Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain outlined the need for security measures. The correspondence highlights a written agreement between the Pashupati Area Development Trust and the Kathmandu metropolis for the management and operation of the Pashupati Dharamshala. The letter calls for the administration’s support to ensure safety and stability in line with this agreement.

“The letter is simply a request for assistance in operating the Dharamshala,” Guragain told Republica. He said that the exact number of personnel needed is not yet determined, emphasizing that this communication is meant to inform rather than specify. “The reasons for requesting additional security personnel cannot be disclosed at this time, and it remains unclear whether the city police will be sufficient to manage operations effectively,” Guragain told Republica.
