KMC Chief Administrative Officer Pariyar stresses meeting citizens' expectations with enhanced police force

KATHMANDU, March 21: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)'s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Pradeep Pariyar, has emphasized the importance of meeting the leadership's policies and citizens' expectations, highlighting the increased anticipation from the public towards the Metropolitan Police Force.

After reviewing the police force at Bagdurbar, including an office inspection and discussions on the KMC Police's responsibilities, Pariyar urged the force to leverage the public trust it has earned towards fostering closer community ties. “You have accomplished much. This should be expanded and made sustainable in managing the capital city,” he stated.

Pariyar acknowledged the deep responsibility the KMC police bear in meeting both leadership policies and citizen expectations. He highlighted the need for more manpower and the provision of resources, tools, and technical equipment based on requirements. “I am committed to enhancing the achievements gained from the deployment of the existing manpower, institutionalizing these successes, and developing capacity,” he affirmed.

The metropolitan city's police force is segmented into four areas. A team led by the KMC Police Superintendent is set to manage the east and central areas, while the west and north areas will be under a Deputy Superintendent's command. Senior Superintendent of Police Rajunath Pandey, who leads the police force, noted their involvement in environmental management, operation of the Juddha Barun Yantra office, unauthorized vehicle parking management, and wire management.

During the visit, the operations of the control room, mess hall, kitchen area, and the condition and functioning of the living quarters and vehicles were inspected.
