"I achieved my long time dream and I feel that I have been selected for the position due to football. Now I will fulfill whatever duty Nepal Army assigns me," said the 22-year old.[break]
Khawas declared the best forward in the last edition of National League from Nepal Police believes that his confirmation in the post will motivate him to do better in the league starting from Tuesday at the Dasharath Stadium.
Khawas had applied for the post of Assistant Sub Inspector in the Nepal Police last year.
"I was playing as a contract player since the beginning of the new season in Army. But I was not certain about my selection. Now I can play without fearing about my future," said Khawas. "The job in the Army is like insurance for a player like me."
"Joining Nepal Army was my long time dream. Skipper of Nepal Army team Bikash Malla and my brother Amrit Khawas motivated me to join the army," said Khawas.
"I know now I will have to undergo two-year long training and I may not play football for some time. But I think discipline and regular training will further enhance my performance. I thank my family, the Nepal Army, ANFA and my fans for supporting me at all times," said Khawas.
Meanwhile, NA Captain and former Nepali international footballer Bikash Malla said that Khawas´ appointment in the Nepal Army will boost the team´s performance in the league.
Army coach Yogembar Suwal said Khawas was a disciplined and hard working player. "Khawas´ presence can make difference in the team," Suwal said.
