Mohan Baidya´s hard-line faction faced tough time holding the gathering of the Maoist Limbuwan State Committee members loyal to the faction. The gathering was supposed to be held at the office of the party´s Limbuwan state committee, but was shifted to New Dish Hotel after the cadres from the establishment faction gathered there to disrupt the gathering.

Maoist district secretary Ram Rai, who is from the establishment faction, denied that his faction planned to disrupt the gathering.

"Our friends had gone there to participate in the gathering, but the organizers did not hold the gathering," Rai said. Of the 251 members of the state committee, 50 had participated in the gathering. The Maoist faction led by Baburam Bhattarai had stayed neutral.

The hardline faction held a press meeting in the evening after the gathering. Gajurel however did not speak anything on who seized the key of his vehicle. He bashed the party leadership for handing over the keys of the weapons containers to the Special Committee.
