RASUWA, April 17: The number of Nepali tourists visiting Kerung Bazaar, a Chinese market located some 25 kilometres from Rasuwa, Nepal, has surged in recent days.

The increase in the number of domestic tourists to this boarding market is attributed to the road connectivity to Rasuwagadhi in Rasuwa district, according to Surendra Pradhan, Chief of Kamle Immigration in the district.

Rasuwagadhi lies150 kms to the north of Kathmandu.

He shared that some 30 internal tourists have been visiting Kerung Bazaar on a daily basis which has added to the charm of this border market.

It takes a citizenship certificate card and a permit paper allowing an entry to this Chinese market for a day only.

The arrival of internal tourists has also boosted the economy of Nepal's border area as internal tourists enjoy a sight-seeing of historical fort in Rasuwagadhi built during the war between Nepal and Tibet. RSS
