Kavre VDC secys quit

BANEPA, June 27: All 66 VDC secretaries in Kavre district resigned together after threats from Samyukta Jatiya Mukti Morcha to quit.



The secretaries led by Padma Shankar Gautam, chairman of the VDC Secretaries Welfare Protection Center, Nepal, submitted their resignations to Local Development Officer Megha Nath Kafle. There are 87 VDCs in the district and 21 VDCs do not have secretaries.



"It has been long since we have bore life threat and warning of physical assault," Gautam said, adding that they could not continue working as the government could not provide security.
